The oxidation effect and electron transfer on thefriction surface of MoS2 is studied by electron spin resonance and X-ray photoelectron spectrometryin this paper. It is found that during friction process , Mo4+ is oxidized into Mo5+,transient statefirstly,and then Mo5+ forms the stable Mo6+ in form of MoO3 by oxidation. It is suggested thatthere is the transient state, Mo5+ form,which was never found before, on the friction surface ofMoS2 except Mo4+ and Mo6+ state,therefore,the friction oxidation process of MoS2 is verycomplex. We should recognize the friction oxidition products of MoS2 and the tribochemicalmechanism again,because of the importance for the study of the synergistic effect of the frictionalenvironment and additives on the antioxidation of lubricants.The electronic configuration ofMo5+ is 4d1 which is stable under room temperature in the air or in oxygen,but under the influenceof the frictional environment or additives its non-paired electrons transfer easily to Mo6+, Thechemieal shift of Mo5+ and Mo6+ 3d is -1. 20eV,The reaction proceeds in the direction of positivereaction when the surface obtains a small active energy.Mo6+ ion transforms into Mo5+ free radicalion with the high chemical activity by receiving one electron with the same energy,thus resulting inthe electron transfer on the frictional surface of MoS2.

利用电子自旋共振谱和X射线光电子能谱研究了二硫化钼MoS_2摩擦表面的氧化和电子转移,发现MoS_2在摩擦过程中是以Mo ̄(4+)经由Mo ̄(5+)过渡态继而与氧作用生成稳定的Mo ̄(6+),并且是以MoO_3的形式存在,证明MoS_2的摩擦表面除有一般认为的Mo ̄(4+)和Mo ̄(6+)这两种化学状态以外,还有Mo ̄(5+)自由基离子这种从未发现的的中间态。Mo ̄(5+)是4d ̄1电子构型,其在室温下于空气或氧气中是稳定的,然而在摩擦环境或添加剂的作用下,Mo ̄(5+)所含不成对电子很容易发生转移而生成Mo ̄(6+),这种研究结果更加深入地揭示了MoS_2摩擦表面氧化过程的复杂性,因此,应当从摩擦化学角度重新认识MoS_2摩擦氧化产物及其形成机制,这于研究摩擦环境和添加剂对润滑剂的抗氧化协同效应具有重要意义。

It is discovered that metal protectant and polar polymer can reduce fretting wear of complex lithium grease largely by utilizing Fafnir friction oxidation tester investigates fretting wear of complex lithium grease. The metal protectant may influence other properties of complex lithium grease, but the polar polymer may not in-fluence ones of complex lithium grease.

用费夫纳摩擦氧化试验机考察复合锂基润滑脂的微动磨损时,发现金属保护剂和极性聚合物可大幅度降低复合锂基脂的微动磨损。金属保护剂会影响复合锂基脂的其它性能,而极性聚合物不会对复合锂基脂的其他性能产生不良影响。
