Coal measures of Middle and Upper Carboniferous in North China contain abundant conodonts, but their occurrence at various localities is different. There are in total 14 genera and 51 species of conodonts discovered in North China. Two conodont assemblages are recognized in Benxi Formation of Middle Carboniferous. They are: 1. Idiognathodus shanxiensis-Neognathodus bassleri, and 2.Neognathodus roundyi-Streptognathodus parvus in ascending order. And two assemblages are distinguished in Taiyuan and Shanxi Formations...
