In this paper the algorithms for geometric transformation of image data and the decomposition of the image matrix into submatrices are introduced. When the image is digitized in the line scanning mode, the geometric transformation of the two dimensional image matrix can be realized by two one-dimensional geometric transformations, i.e., first carrying out the geometric transformation along the scanning lines and then rotating the image matrix through 90 degrees and carrying out the geometric trans...

In this paper the algorithms for geometric transformation of image data and the decomposition of the image matrix into submatrices are introduced. When the image is digitized in the line scanning mode, the geometric transformation of the two dimensional image matrix can be realized by two one-dimensional geometric transformations, i.e., first carrying out the geometric transformation along the scanning lines and then rotating the image matrix through 90 degrees and carrying out the geometric trans formation in the other direction. These algorithms can be implemented in a minicomputer system with an appropriate software and a special-purpose hardwired device, so that it can reduce the computing time effectively and is adaptable in minicomputer digital image processing systems.

The crate controller for interfacingModel DJS-131 computer is designed for the purpose described above. DJS-131computer is a general purpose minicomputer designed and produced in China, withword length of 16 bits and operation rate of 500 kilocycles per second, whichhave been already equipped in many laborateries in our country. This crate con-troller will facilitate potential applications of CAMAC system. The crate controlleris a triple width module which is connected to the computer I/O bus via frontpanel edge connector. It is conformed fully with mandatory requirements of theCAMAC specification EUR 4100e(1972). The crate controller is designed to provideprogrammed I/O transfer and data channel (DCH) I/O transfer. Program I/Otransfer includes single I/O transfer and block transfer in address scan mode. 16-bitcommand register A is used to store NAF and two feature bits MA and MN, whichare used to define the rules of address modification in scan mode. The 24-bit dataregister consists of 16-bit register B and 8-bit register C. DCH transfer of131 Computer is the direct memory access transfer, which is performed to accessdata block at high speed. It is manipulated by DCH control logic circuit of thecrate controller during DCH transfer. Register A with DCH address is used to storememory address, and is automatically incremented when one word is transferred.In order to match the computer with DCH mode, 16-bit word is used here, and themaximum block contains 4096 words. In order to obtain the highest block transferrate, the special timing sequence has been arranged in the controller, which enableDCH transfer to continue without being interrupted. CAMAC system for automaticmeasurement based on this crate controller has been established in Shanghai Instru-ment Institute. It is used to test the reference Zener diode accurately and to findout the working area at zero temperature coefficient. The crater controller hasalso been successfully used in an energy spectrum multichannel analyser in CAMACsystem.
