The solid phase extraction disk developed in recent years is new method for analyzing radionuclides. Its principle is that the specific extractant is embedded in a disk of polytetrafluoroethylene fibrils and on this disk concentrating and purifying the target nuclide and preparing counting source are accomplished. In comparison with traditional radiochemical analysis method, this method is faster and more effective. Owing to the excellent dynamic character, the disk allows the solution to pass through in high flow rate(50ml/min). It makes the disk suitable to analyze the large volume water sample. A one-liter sample may be prepared with as little as half an hour. After checking carefully it demonstrates that this method can replace the traditional radiochemical analysis in water sample monitoring. Along with spreading use of this method, money spent will be cut down greatly.
