A variety of methods for measuring particle size have been described in the existinq literature. There are two general categories: absolute methods and indirect methods. Among the indirect methods, those employing glass slide coated with a thin film of oleophobic or hydrophobic materials are more commonly used, but some problems, especially of selecting the most appropriate: materials for film-coating, have to be studied further. We have studied the materials of thin film used to collect the particles, in order that they might keep the particles in a sphere-shaped spots which do not spread or coalesce. Nine materials have been employed, namely, stearic acid Ⅰ, stearic acid Ⅱ, stearic acid Ⅲ, cedar-wood oil, castor oil, liquid paraffin, rosin, vaseline and paraffin wax. The cover-slips were coated with thirteen kinds of hydrophobic film of various materials which have been warmed and melted before coating. As soon as the aqueous particles were collected on the film of the cover-slips, they were immediately taken away and put on the well of a concave slide to prevent evaporation. The slide was then placed on a microscope stage to measure the diameter of the particles. The results of these studies, analysed statistically, indicate that the hydrophobic films used can be divided into three groups:(1) better film group (with the small diameter),(2) good film group (with the median diameter), and(3) bad film group (with the great diameter). When the diameter was converted into round area for the purpose of intensifying the difference from one another, we found that the round area of good film group was 1.79 times that of better film group, whereas the round aera of bad film group was 3.94 times that of better film group. As is shown by the statistic analysis, the better film group is superior to the good film group and the bad film group. It is necessary to make sure that, for the sake of accuracy, we must choose hydrophobic materials to prepare a testing film in measuring aqueous particles size.

用α-氰基丙烯酸异丁酯(Bucrylate)作为栓塞剂,对8只家兔进行肾动脉栓塞。其中右肾栓塞4只,左肾栓塞1只,双侧肾栓塞3只。栓塞后动物存活时间为2天~8周。实验结果显示肾梗塞灶累及皮质和髓质,肾动脉分支尤其是小血管内可见 Bucrylate 栓子,但肾小球毛细血管襻未被栓子阻塞。肾栓塞1周以上,肾体积缩小,重量减轻。6~8周后,梗塞灶周围有明显异物巨细胞反应,纤维母细胞增生伴胶原纤维形成。这种病理变化与注入鼠腿者相同。提示 Bucrylate 为一种较好的血管栓塞剂。

This paper analyses, based on test results. the influences of slipping veloci- ty, normal pressure, and the trade mark of lubrication oil on the friction coeff- icient of brass in lubricating situation. It points out the limitness of the friction coefficients represented in some common use designer's handbook. It points out that brass is not an appropriate material for composing the spare parts of kinematic pair and is not an appropriate material for contained member in rotary kinematic pair.
