The artificial arm provides prehension and wrist rotation. The analogous electronic circuit acquiring and processing myoelectric signals has been designed and it is placed in a small isolated plastic box containing surface-gilded electrodes, which are directly attached to forearm stump muscles to pick up myoelectric signals. This paper presents an analysis of the structure and grip force of the hand. The ways to reduce the weight of the artificial arm and its operating noise have been also discussed in the paper. A new mechanism of auto-change speed and auto-increase force has been designed. High efficiency, low noise and large grip force have been achieved in the prosthesis. The clinical application for about two years shows that the prosthesis is successful. It has received a positive response from amputees.
