This influence usually appears as the SPA (sudden phase anomaly) and SFA (sudden field anomaly), of which, SPA shows especially distinct morphology. When SPA occurs, the phases of sky wave signals always decrease (time advance) abruptly from the first and reach the minimum quickly and then, recover gradually. In general, this phase shift is about a few μs, sometimes, up to 10μs. For distant observation point, the sky wave and its own ground wave are overlapping partly. so that the tracked cycle of the ground wave at receiver is usually fixed at certain cycle which arrives at receiver before sky wave, thereby this received signal of ground wave is not interfered by sky wave at quiet time. However, it is possibly interfered duo to the sphase advance of the sky wave when SPA and SFA occur. Basding on the analyses for the observation materials, we point out that there do be some influences of SPA and SFA on the timing and calibrating by receiving sky wave signal at LF, even if by receiving ground wave signal at LF. In addition, we also propose some methods in data processing to minimize these influences.

Such a behavoir,with indetermination, of earthquakes repeated at same localities is termed "quasi-time-predictable behavior". For historic earthquake data,this behavior can be described by the regression equation of logarithm of quiet time after an earthquake versus intensity of this earthquake. In this paper,a method to estimate the range of average recurrence interval conditional on intensity of the last event on individual segments along a large fault zone as well as a real-time probabilistic model that is able to be used in indeterminative evaluating of future seismic potential for these segments have been proposed. As an example,both the method and the model have been preliminarily applied to the Xianshuihe fault zone. This paper is a preliminary effort,based on the quasi-time-predictable model and on the combination of data of historic earthquakes,segmentation of earthquake ruptures and estimation of recurrence time intervals with model of probability, to make real-time probabilistic analysis in evaluating middle-long-term seismic potential on individual fault segments.
