Previous works indicated that the inhibitory effect of acupuncture on theviscero-somatic reflex was mediated by a recurrent circuit consisting of the ascen-ding fibres in the ventrolateral funiculi,the bulbar medial reticular formationand the descending fibres in the dorsolateral funiculi.The present work showedthat in unanesthetized,immobilized cats dorsal root potential(DRP)could beevoked by stimulation of any part of such a recurrent circuit.To stimulate theascending fibres,a segment of right half of the thoracic cord was isolated with thecaudal end cut and the rostral end intact.The latencies of the DRPs(left L6)evoked by stimulation of the half isolated spinal cord at T2-4,the nucleus raphemagnus or surface of the left dorsolateral funiculi were 48±6msec,36±3msec and3—5msec respectively.There were approximately correlated temporal courses ofthe negativity of DRP evoked by stimulation of the half isolated spinal cord or thenucleus raphe magnus and the inhibitory phase of the flexor reflex or the viscero-somatic reflex conditioned by the same stimulus.The length constant of the fibresinvolved 1n the DRP evoked by stimulation of the half isolated spinal cord wasless than 3mm,indicating depolarization of small fibres.Section of the dorsola-teral funiculi at T2-3 abolished the DRP evoked by stimulation of the half isolatedspinal cord or the nucleus raphe magnus.Lesion placed in the bulbar medialreticular formation including the nucleus raphe magnus abolished or attenuatedmarkedly the DRP evoked by stimulation of the half isolated spinal cord.Theseresults suggest a possible presynaptic mechanism mediated by a spino-bulbo-spinalrecurrent circuit which might play a role in acupuncture analgesia.

Objective To investigate the relationship between mossy fiber axon sprouting(MFS), synaptic reorganization in the dentate gyrus,and the mechanism of chronic temporal lobe epilepsy induced by pilocarpine.Methods The mossy fiber sprouting and synapse formation were observed in rats after the acute status epileticus and chronic spontaneous temporal lobe epilepsy induced by pilocarpine using in situ hybridization of GAP 43 mRNA(a marker of MFS), an immunohistochemical staining of synaptophysin(P38,a marker of synaptogenes),and Neo Timm staining. Results In hippocampus granule cell,there was a significant increase in the GAP 43mRNA levels measured 6~12 h after the end of status epileticus induced by pilocarpine. In contrast,synaptophysin immunoreactivity progressively increased in the molecular layer of the dentate gyrus from 7 d,which was in line with the Neo Timm stain results that revealed a time dependent growth of aberrant MFS into the dentate inner molecular layer.The GAP 43 mRNA levels in pilocarpine treated animals were significantly decreased after status epileticus.Conclusion These results provide evidence for newly formed excitatory recurrent circuits, which might constitute a structural basis for chronic enhanced excitation and epileptogenesis in the hippocampus of pilocarpine treated rats.

目的 :探讨匹罗卡品致痫鼠大脑海马齿状回苔藓纤维出芽、突触重建及其与颞叶癫痫发生的关系。方法 :急性诱导癫痫持续状态及慢性颞叶癫痫形成后 ,采用Neo Timm银染观察苔藓纤维出芽及突触重建 ,并用原位杂交方法检测苔藓纤维出芽标志物生长相关蛋白 (GAP 4 3)mRNA ,用免疫组织化学方法检测突触重建标志物突触体素 (P38)的动态变化。结果 :癫痫持续状态后 6~ 1 2h ,海马齿状颗粒细胞GAP 4 3mRNA表达显著增高 ;从第 7d开始 ,P38免疫反应性在齿状回内分子层呈进行性增加 ,与Neo Timm显示的异常苔藓纤维出芽一致 ,而此时颗粒细胞GAP 4 3mRNA表达显著减少。结论 :匹罗卡品癫痫发作后 ,在海马形成了异常的兴奋性环路从而为慢性高兴奋性产生及癫痫形成提供了结构基础

We usually calculate the voltage and current before we get the amount of the resistance when we discuss the recurrent circuit. In this article, the author puts forward a comparatively simple method to calculate the resistance in recurrent circuit by difference equation.
