The greater the particle size and solid/liquid ratio, the higher the saltation velocity and the higher the flowing velocity at which the minimum occurs. The overall pressure drop for return bends may be accounted for gravitational component, accelerational component, wall frictional component,frictional componet due to return flow, and additional pressure drop due to saltation,when the saltation was happened. The additional frictional pressure drop for vertical tubes due to its connection with the bend was accounted into the frictional component due to return flow. The suggested model for the estimation of pressur drop for tubular leacher was confirmed by experimental results.

The formulae of modified summation model can be applied not only to Hy-contact valve tray,but also agree well with the reported data of F_(-1) valve tray for use in air-diesel testing system.

The experimental results have shown that the transversely corrugated tube is very effective for heat transfer enhancement of compressed air cooler.It′s overall heat transfer coefficient is as much as 1.77~1.66 times of plain tube within the range of experimental mass flow.Under the special mass folw,It′s overall heat transfer coefficient is as much as 1.75 times of plain tube,or It′s heat exchange area can be cut down by 43%.The overall pressure drop of air cooler of transversely corrugated tube is about as much as 2 times of plain tube. The mechanism of heat transfer enhancement of transversely corrugated tube was discussed.
