AIM: To evaluate the applying value of entropy and type of brain electrobiological activity in the material selection of excellent weight lifters.METHODS: The professional works, references about the material selection of weight lifting and the data about the related field of exercise training were retrieved, collected and sorted by using the idea of self-organizing theory and reference methods as the theoretical basis of the investigation and the evidence of the actual prove. The brain electrical α wave was tested, typed and classified in 115 weight lifters of different gender and grade with the RJTB-1 type senior exercise training state (brain) monitoring system by using brain electrical compound spectrum analysis. RESULTS: According to the different brain electrical activity (8,9,10,11,12,13 Hz and entropy value), all the brain electrical activities were classified into 5 types: motor control divergent type (type 0, characterized by divergent thinking, inattention, difficulty in forming dynamic stereotype), motor control instable type (type 1, characterized by longer duration for the optimization of special quality); motor control optimization type (type 2, characterized by optimized control, better motor adaptation, faster learning and easy to enter the stable status); motor control cognition type (type 3, characterized by emphasis on thought, good at thinking, emphasis on the understanding of learning, stable manifestations of motor special quality, better training effect by the coach based on understanding); motor control emotion type (type 4, characterized by faster lift-up or attention transition, better attention control when good emotion, unstable results when bad emotion, sharp rise and fall, great influence on results by environment). The study indicated that excellent weight lifters were mainly people with type 2 and 3 brain electrical activities. For the excellent athletes with type 3 brain electrical activity, the value of brain electrical entropy was significantly correlated with the results.CONCLUSION: The entropy value is significant for the material selection of weight lifting, the smaller the entropy value, the more important its significance for weight lifting; the greater the greater the entropy value, the smaller the significance for the material selection of weight lifting in the excellent athletes. As an index for the material selection, entropy value is effective and feasible for the excellent athletes with type 3 brain electrical activity. It is indicated that primary evaluation of the law of entropy value and brain electrical activity type can solve the objective analysis evaluation problem that"the athletic ability of athletes is the self-organizing adaptation to the environment", it opens up a new means for the material selection of weight lifting.
