Study of coal-bearing strata and characteristics of coal metamorphism have further proved that coal metamorphism has relation with characteristics of quartz and calcite veins developed in the Mesozoic coal measures in Northwest area. The higher the coal rank, the better the development of veins. In coal measures with medium and high rank of coal the scale, occurrence, density, spatial distribution and inclusion homogenization temperature of quarts veins may indicate heat source body, heat transfer path, paleogeothermal value, distribution of metamorphism zone, metamorphism type, etc. Generally quartz veins are not developed in measures with low rank coal. The veins mentioned in the paper are small in scale and can be easily neglected. However, These veins bring about geological information, including tectonic setting, geothermal condition, fluid activity and so on. They are of important value.

西北地区中生代含煤地层和煤变质特点的研究进一步表明,石英脉及方解石脉的发育特征与煤变质关系密切。煤变质程度越高,岩脉发育越好。中-高变质煤煤系石英脉的规模、产状、密度、空间组合、脉岩矿物包裹体均化温度等宏-微观特征,可以指示煤变质的热源体、热传播途径、古地温值、变质带分布规律、变质作用类型等;低变质煤煤系石英脉一般不发育。本文所论及岩脉规模较小,易被忽略。但这些岩脉是含煤盆地构造、地热、流体活动等地质信息的载体,颇有研究价值。
