In this paper,a new adaptive-bandwidth-reservation scheme for handoff in the broadband wireless network is presented. In this scheme,For a realtime new calls,bandwidth is reserved in the cell's neighboring cells in this scheme,and when a realtime broadband handoff call arrives and no bandwidth available, it can borrow bandwidth from existing nonrealtime connections. The performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated through simulation, the results show that the proposed scheme provides small handoff blocking probability than the new call blocking probability; at the same time, contrasting to the general bandwidth - reservation scheme, this scheme can provide smaller handoff blocking probability for broadband traffic.

在宽带的多媒体无线网中,合理地对各种业务进行带宽的分配是一个非常重要的问题。本文提出了一种适用于宽带无线网越区切换时的动态带宽预留方案。该方案在分配带宽时,给于切换连接比新发连接更高的优先级。对于实时性的切换连接,在小区内进行了带宽预留,当实时的宽带业务切换连接到达时,若无带宽可用,还可以借用非实时业务所占的带宽。文中对所提出的方案进行了计算机仿真。仿真结果显示,切换连接的阻塞率明显小于新发连接;同时,与传统预留方案相比,该方案能够大幅度降低宽带业务的切换连接阻塞率。

The next generation wireless networks are being called upon to support not only data traffic but also real-time interactive multimedia traffic such as audio and video.So it is necessary for wireless networks to provide quality-of-service guarantees for the multimedia applications.This paper proposes a call admission control scheme based on adaptive bandwidth reservation.The proposed scheme distinguishes new calls and handoff calls and gives handoff calls higher priority.The proposed scheme still gives real-time calls higher priority than that of non-real time calls.In addition,it keeps the call dropping probability of real-time call lower than a predefined threshold value and provide quality-of-service(QoS) for all kinds of traffics.

未来无线网络不仅向用户提供非实时的数据业务同时也提供实时的诸如话音、视频等多媒体业务,这就要求无线网络必需向用户提供不同要求的服务质量保证。提出一种基于自适应带宽预留的呼叫准入控制方案,该方案不仅考虑了切换呼叫优先于新呼叫,还考虑到实时业务对非实时业务的优先级,并将实时业务的掉线概率控制在预定的门限值以下,有效地保证各类业务的服务质量。
