MoO3·H2O-TiO2 composites with different molar ratios of MoO3/TiO2 (2~10) prepared by sol-gel method were deposited into thin films by using citric acid as dispersant. The thin films prepared show visible light photochromism (λ≥420 nm). It was identified that the Mo—O—Ti bond formed at the interface of MoO3?H2O and TiO2 in the composites facilitated the charge transfer from TiO2 to MoO3·H2O and was responsible for the visible light photochromism of the composite films. This paper discusses the interaction of water waves with a vertical thin barrier in a continuously stratified fluid. Under the Boussinesq approximation, the dispersion relations are obtained for plane monochromatic waves in a continuously stratified fluid, and the theoretical solutions are obtained by the eigenfunction expansion for the reflection and transmission energies, as well as the exciting forces on the barrier due to incident waves. This paper discusses the interaction of water waves with a vertical thin barrier in a continuously stratified fluid. Under the Boussinesq approximation, the dispersion relations are obtained for plane monochromatic waves in a continuously stratified fluid, and the theoretical solutions are obtained by the eigenfunction expansion for the reflection and transmission energies, as well as the exciting forces on the barrier due to incident waves. For a fixed frequencyω,whenω>N (N being the buoyancy frequency), there is only a monochromatic wave pattern with one mode. Whenωenergies of the reflection and transmission waves of any other mode are equal. The reflection and transmission energies, as well as the exciting forces on the barrier due to incident waves are computed for two types of structures: a surface-piercing barrier and a bottom-touched one, respectively. The results indicate that the density stratification can have a significant effect on the hydrodynamic characteristics of the barrier over a wide range of frequencies. In particular, whenωtransferred energies and the exciting forces on the barrier due to incident waves of the first mode are much less than those due to incident waves of other modes.
