A robust fault detection method is presented for a class of discrete descriptor systems with unknown input disturbance and bounded uncertainties based on the above mentioned observer. This method uses the relation between the fault signals and the observing error and in this way we can not only detect faults in systems, but also give estimation for faults. The selection for threshold, the minimal fault signal that can be detected and the error in fault signal estimation are also discussed in this paper. Simulation indicates its effectiveness.
