The results were summarized as follows:1. The suitable medium for inducing callus from poplar anthers had been found to be MS + 2, 4-D 2 ppm + Kinetin 2 ppm. The frequency of callus induced was 3.8%.2....

In this medium it was not only beneficial for the induction of root-formation, but also very effecient for root-system development.4. The haploid poplar plantlets from pollen had been transplanted into green-hause and directly planted into the pots. Up to present, they are growing satisfactorily.

In the years 1980~1982,we studied the laws of root system development of different populations of winter wheat in the fields in Yangling,Shaanxi province.Results from our studies indicated as follows:the maximum depth of the root system of different populations of winter wheat might reach 5 meters or so,and the root system of suitable populations went deepest in soil;the time of maxium value of root dry weight was closely related to the numbers of tillars per mu in winter...

In the years 1980~1982,we studied the laws of root system development of different populations of winter wheat in the fields in Yangling,Shaanxi province.Results from our studies indicated as follows:the maximum depth of the root system of different populations of winter wheat might reach 5 meters or so,and the root system of suitable populations went deepest in soil;the time of maxium value of root dry weight was closely related to the numbers of tillars per mu in winter and spring;The numbers of the tillars per mu can be used to estimate the time range of the maximum value of root dry weight;the root activity decreased with the increase of wheat populations above the ground,which is also in positively significant correta- tion with the numbers of the secodary roots of single wheat plant,roughness of the secondary roots and roughness of stems to the fifth node as well as the length of ears,and in extremely negative correlation with the length of the stem to the fifth node;and with the growth of wheat populations above the ground,the period of the maximum root numbers forwarded and the root activity decreased in corresponding with the decrease of grain yields.

1980~1982年在大田条件下,对冬小麦不同群体根系发育的研究结果表明:不同群体根系最大入土深度均可达到5m 左右,以适宜群体根系入土最深;根干重达到最大值的时期与冬春亩蘖数关系密切;用亩蘖数可推断根干重最大值期范围;根活性随地上部群体增大而降低,并与单株次生根条数、次生根粗度、茎倒5节间粗度呈显著正相关,与穗长呈极显著正相关,与茎倒5节间长度呈显著负相关;随地上部群体增大、最大根量期前移和根活性降低,籽粒产量相应降低。
