Digital signal processing for analysing noise of motors has the advantages of high computing speed, fine frequency resolution and multiple functionality. In this study the vibration and noise spectra of electrical motors were measured and analysed. The test results show that the vibration and noise sources can be exactly identified by means of comprehensively using the multiple functions of digital signal processing and provide a sound basis for reducing the vibration and noise from motors.
