A new fundamental method for formulating bending plates elements-thequasi-conforming element method is presented in this paper.All the elements formulated according to this method are assured to be convergent in the analysis. A rectangular bending plate element based on the reduced bending stiffness theorey is presented in this paper. The element, including transverse shear deformation and possessing only three freedoms per node, is suited for finite element analysis of isotropic, orthotropic and laminated composite plates( both thin plate and moderate thick plate). Besides this, also proposed is the consistent geometric stiffness matrix for linear stability anlysis of plates. Some numerical examples are given herein. The results show that the element has the advantages of fewer nodal freedoms, with simple formulation and better convergence and good accuracy.

本文按照折合弯曲刚度理论,导出了矩形板单元的刚度矩阵。该单元考虑了横向剪切变形,每个节点具有三个自由度,适用于各向同性材料,正交异性材料和复合材料层状板(包括薄板和中等厚度板)的有限元分析,同时还导出了一致的几何刚度矩阵,可用于板的线性稳定性分析。文中给出了一些算例,计算结果表明,该单元不但节点自由度少,公式简单,而且还保证了一定的精度。

Finite dynamic elements are usually expressed by frequency expansions of both mass and stiffness matrices. In the present paper a single impedance matrix expansion is proposed, hence there is no need to derive mass and sti- ffness matrix expansion terms separately and the formulation of a finite dy- namic element is simplified significantly. For a rectangular bending plate element, the impedance matrix expansion terms to the second order are derived and, as an illustrative example, applied to the calculation of natural frequencies of a square cantilever plate.
