The integrating criterion for distinguishing permanent or instantaneous fault condition is put forward using voltage amplitude of fault-phase, phase relationship of voltages between fault line and no-fault lines, and harmonic of fault phases voltage. By this method, the single-pole reclosing under selected condition can be completed and the impact on the power system and equipments through reclosing on the permanent fault line could be avoided.
