Based upon the experiences developed by the Capital Iron and Steel Co., together with the recent development of B. F. practice in other countries, it is proposed that the trend of best B. F. operating practice will be: high quality raw materials, large blast volume (>2.5m~3/min·m~3 furnace volume), high powdered coal injection ratio (>40%), high blast temperature (>1200℃), high ratio of oxygen enriched blast (>25%), high top pressure (>2kgf/cm~2).

Moreover, the top-firing hot stoves could meet all the operational requirements for the high blast temperature and high top pressure blast furnace practice. To find a preeminent design for the top-firing hot stoves, an industrial test run of three such stoves with different types of construction had been conducted in the experimental blast furnace of Capital Iron and Steel Company. Through the effective experimental tests a rational design of such stoves had been recommended to other blast furnace plant and further improvement had been made in the design, making the top-firing hot stove successful in industrial application.

本文通过对顶燃式、外燃式及内燃式(考贝式)热风炉的对比,说明顶燃式热风炉不仅消除了内燃式热风炉的不均称结构所导致的一些典型缺点,而且在结构上比外燃式热风炉简单稳定,同时建设费用少.并且适合高温、高压大型高炉的需要.通过首钢实验高炉三种不同结构型式的顶燃热风炉对比试验,探索合理的顶燃式热风炉结构型式.在取得实用效果后,已将顶燃热风炉推广使用到其它高炉,并做了进一步改进,使顶燃热风炉在工业上得到应用.

Their chief experiences are: paying close attention to the control of raw materials; keeping a fixed full blast volume; adopting a high top pressure and an oxygen enriched high temperature blast together with coal injection; using bigger ore batch weight with "O↓ C↓ " type charging sequence....
