Bohaiwan basin contains many fault depressions many fault blocks,ma- ny hydrocarbon bearing formation layers and various types of pools.It is di- fferent from other large petroleum basins outside China in geologic structure and accumulation of oil and gas,and possesses a characteristic feature of its own.Block faulting activities inside basin develops,forming NE and NW fra- cture systems,thus cutting this basin into 47 tilted block faulting body and a series of overlying dustpan-like fault depression.Every individual dustpan- like fault depression is a unique sedimentary system and an oil generation unit.Various fracture structure zones developed at different part of this basin combined with different types of reservoir rock bodies,resulted in petroleum traps with various size and various types,distributed around source depression in circular belts.This is a geological foundation of the formation of oil and gas pools and complex petroleum accumulation zones.The geologic theory of complex petroleum accumulation zone should be studied further and mastered fully.The theory already played and will play important role in improving efficiency of exploration and increasing petroleum reserve and its annual ou- tput greatly.

The Late Mesozoic faulted basin on the west of Daxinganling shows structure pattern of an uplift between two depressions. There also existed a symmetric tilting movement of blocks around the axis of the uplift, which is in favour for the relative displacement of fault blocks and sliding of symmetrically tilted blocks. Because of slow and intermittent elevation of the Daxingganling rise, the fault blocks on the east are affected by the up-tilting and on the west by the down-tilting. There also existed a symmetric tilting movement of blocks around the axis of the uplift, which is in favour for the relative displacement of fault blocks and sliding of symmetrically tilted blocks. Because of slow and intermittent elevation of the Daxingganling rise, the fault blocks on the east are affected by the up-tilting and on the west by the down-tilting. Therefore, faulted subsidence on the west is of large scale, and there developed the complete strata and stable lake depositional conditions. This is favourable for oil formation. While on the east, the faulted subsidence is of small scale and the depositional condition is unstable, indicating an alternative change of shallow lake and swamp which presented a favourable environment for coal sedimentation.

大兴安岭以西的晚中生代盆地具有两拗夹一隆的构造格局。隆起以西的断陷多西断东超,以东的断陷则多东断西超。以隆为轴,一组对称式掀斜断块具有反向运动的特点,后因大兴安岭间歇性、缓慢抬升,隆起以东的断块受到抬斜作用,而以西的断块掀斜作用得到了加强。因而,隆起以西的断陷规模大,地层全,湖相沉积环境稳定,多为有利的生油断陷;以东的断陷规模较小,沉积环境不稳定,往往浅湖环境和沼泽环境在时间和空间上相互交替出现,为聚煤提供了有利场所。
