After a P8rallelbuffer insertion mode is discussed in detail, some calculations on the network Performance are given.

FDDI dual fiber ring network is a kind of highspeed LAN. It is still used currently. But it has an important drawback, that is, its route function is limited, thus the ability of the network to prevent network damage is weak. This will limit its application in areas that need high reliability. In this paper, a kind of new route selection scheme is proposed. It can increase the ring network's route selection function from five routes to fifteen routes.Therefore the network's reliability is raised greatly. This fifteen-route selection is analyzed in detail in this paper.By e.stablishing the logical parameter table and using ASIC techniques such as FPGA or isp, this function can be realized conveniently.

FDDIK纤环同仍是目前应用的一种高速区域网。但其重要的不足之处是其路由功能有限,因而抗毁性不强,限制其在高可靠性邻域内的应用。本文提出了一种新的路由选择方案.这种方案可使环网的路由选择功能由5种增至15种,从而大大提高了网络系统的生存能力.

The paper introduces some basic advantages of the multiwave length optical transport networks, compares it with the SDH networks, analyzes t he protection and failure restoration of the multiwavelength optical networks, especially multiple fiber ring networks. At the last, the performance monitoring and the determination of protection criterion are presented.
