Galium aparine,as main weeds second only to Alopecurusae qualis, growing in the wheat fields around Nanjing area,is seriously harmful to the crops causing heavy reduction in the yield of wheat. Since 1981,fhe writers have made a fairly thorough research on the biological characteristics of Galium aparine and the control methods.This weed may spread through long distance channel,in the form of seeds mixed with wheat seeds or locally by seeds scattered in the field.The seeds of Galium aparine usually undergo a rest period from June to Sep- tember;they begin sprouting and then the young plants come out of the soil in late October,whence the temperature drops to below 14℃ and above 4℃.The most fayourable temperature for its sprouting is 8~ 12℃,while the critical temperature for its sprouting and growth is 4℃ with a field humidity of above 90%.The whole ontogenetic period of Galium aparine lasts 180~210 days,which is quite similar to that of wheat. In normal years,there are two peak times of budding buring its whole growth period,one appearing before the winter and the other after the spring.However,during the year when the cold period in the winter is longer than usual,there would be only one peak time of budding which appears before winter,yet no phenomenon of withered weed seedlings has been found. As to the control measures the writers recognized that it is extre- mely necessary to take a system of in tegrated control based on the biolo- gical characteristics of Galium aparine,such as the line seeding,the pro- per crop rotation,the screening of wheat seeds,and the proper use of herbicides—propanil+MCPA.

麦田杂草猪殃殃(Galium aparine),属茜草科,为越年生草本植物。随着麦田推广绿麦隆以后,麦田草相发生了变化,看麦娘发生量有所下降,而猪殃殃却逐年上升,发生密度在40~50株/平方尺,严重地块180株/平方尺,最高密度可达300株/平方尺以上,在南京地区是仅次于看麦娘的主要杂草。有些地区危害严重,减产2~3成。其传播途径:近距离主要由草籽散落于田间;远距离主要由草籽混在麦种里。猪殃殃种子的休眠期在6~9月。其萌发生长适温8~12℃,田间湿度85~95%。全生育期180~210天。整个生长期有两个出苗高峰:一个在冬前;一个在春后。越冬死亡率15~35%。暖冬年份只有冬前一个出苗高峰,无死苗现象;冷冬年份出苗高峰在春后。经过作者等5年的研究认为:必须根据猪殃殃的生物学特性,采用条播、合理轮作、过筛麦种及合理使用除草剂(如苯达松、敌稗与2甲4氯)等综合防治措施。
