In this paper discussions are made on problems such as the equivalent stiffness of the tube-plates, the eccentricity of ribbing beams of the plate, the connection of different types of elements, the treatment of oblique boundaries and co-planer nodes, thermal stresses, etc. The comparison was made between the results obtained from different structural forms, sizes and boundary conditions.The authors have worked out the general programme for the digital computer of 719 type. It will be widely applicable to a lot of problems such as plates, shells, bars and beams of single-typed structures and composite structures under different types of machanical forces and temperature fields.

In this paper,the influences of the ratio Zn/Mg and the minor copper addition on the machanical pioperties,the weldability and the SCR (stress corrosion resistance) of high strength weldable Al-Zn-Mg alloys and the selection of welding wire have been discussed.The experimental results show that there exist the reasonable performance indexes of strength,ductility and SCR as well as the recievable weldability while the ratio Zn/Mg of alloys and joints are equal to about 2,73.As the minor copper addition is less than 0.4 wt% the strength and the ductility of base metal will not be substantially improved but,in contrast,the strength and the ductility (δ and a) of weld joint decrease as the amount of copper added being increased over 0.4 wt%.The reasonable copper addition may be considered as 0.3 wt% by which the SCR can be greatly improved without any serious disadvantage to the weldability.The comparative tests show that the welding wire AlMg6 containing high magnesium is suitable for welding the high strength weldable Al-Zn-Mg alloys.If the selected welding wire is the same with base metal,the high contents both of Mg and Zr in welding wire should be ensured enough and the Mn content must be restricted to a level below or equal to 0.2wt%

This paper analysed the main causes which affect the lubricating oil consumption of series 95 diesel engines which are produced in large quantity and widely used throughout the country. Also briefly described theoretically the effects of thepressure in crankcase, the clearance between valve stem and valve guide, cylinder liner ovality, piston ring design and the sealing between cylinder liner and piston rings etc. on the lubricating oil consumption.After a series of laboratory tests and rural operations, following conclusions are drawn: The most effective way to reduce the lubricating oil consumption is to adopt the oil ring backed with spiral spring expander and to control inlet oil quantity between valve stem and valve guide.This paper also showed the test data of the raised machanical efficiency after eliminating one compression ring. Authors further stated the effect of the stiffness of cylinder block on lubricating oil consumption to which enough attention had not paid so far.To those engine and spare parts manufactures, this paper will give some valuable reference.
