         This paper represents the basic principle of kinematic analysis of planar mechanisms carried out by using the vector loop equation. Three fundamental planar four-bar linkages are analysed. This can be also used for the analysis of plane multi-bar mechanisms. An example is given with the aid of a computer to show the process of solving actual problems.
