The static compensator of reactive power is a new development of reactive power compensation technique in 1970's, In this paper, the static compensator consisting of a controlled saturable-reactor and static condensers is analyzed. This compensator is connected in parallel with the power network. The saturable-reactor controlled by a three-phase thyristor circuit may be considered as an element in a closed loop reactive power control system which consists of two controllers, the current controller and the reactive power controller. The system is applicable to compensate the large fluctuation of shock reactive power in network at very short time. The dynamic process of the compensating SR has been analyzed and the optimal dimensional ratio of SR under the condition of minimum time constant has also been given.

Static Var Generator(SVG) with force-commutated inverters is a new type system of reactive power resources. It causes leading (or lagging) current to be drawn from the AC system using thyristor circuits rather than capacitors and reactors. It has been studied only for a few years. The principle of the SVG is discussed and proved by the test results on a physical simulator of the North-China Institute of Electric Power. It is intended to build an industrial prototype as the next step of research.

Domestic thyristor voltage regulators for diesel locomotives, in which commonkathode choppers are employed, are designed in accordance with the auxiliary generators. Since the excitation winding of the auxiliary generator in German V_(1003) locomotive is grounded by one terminal, a common anode chopper has to be used. The common-anode chopper made by American GM Corporation and the domestic thyristor voltage regulator operate on the principle of mutual turning off of two thyristors, bringing about the disadvantages of higher power load resistor in the auxiliary thyristor circuit. with more loss and increased temperature rise and less reliable trigger of the thyristors owing to the gate current of the main thyristors passing the excitation winding of the generator. The power circuit and the control circuit of the common-anode chopper suitable for the automatic regulation to the output voltage of the 30kW auxiliary generator in V_(1003) locomotive are introduced in the paper with the aid of computer. The model regulator has passed the running test and the extensive running test. In October 1984, the appraisal group composed of domestic experts gave a technical appraisal of the chopper. The choppers have been put nito production. The successful development of the chopper not only saves foreign exchange for our country but also meets the need for the regulators. Thus the Third Prize of Beijing's Scientific and Technical Achievements was awarded in 1984.

国产内燃机车晶闸管电压调整器系与辅助发电机成套设计,采用了共阴极斩波电路的结构形式。由于德制V_(1003)型机车的辅助发电机励磁绕组一端接地,所以只有采用共阳极的斩波电路。美国GM公司研制的共阳极斩波器与国产晶闸管电压调节器同样采用了两个晶闸管互关断的原理,带来的向题是辅管电路中的负载电阻容量较大,不仅损耗能量,而且不利于整机温升的降低,同时主管的门极电流需要通过发电机的励磁绕组,不利于晶闸管的可靠触发。本文用计算机作为辅助手段,确定一种适合于自动调节V_(1003)型机车30kW辅助发电机输出电压的共阳极斩波器的主控电路。研制的样机在现场经受了运行试验和扩大的运行试验的考验,并于1984年10月由国内同行专家组成的鉴定组通过鉴定,现已投产。本装置的研制成功不仅为国家节约了大量的外汇,而且解决了现场的急需。因此,荣获了北京市1984年科技成果三等奖。
