With the development of sedimentology, the research of dolomitization advances rapidly during these years. This paper reviews the material sources, environment, stages and mechanisms of dolomitization. These mechanisms include tectonic-hydrothermal dolomitization involved in regional tectonics, volcanic-hydrothermal dolomization connected with volcanism, and metamorphic-hydrothermal dolomitization involved in metamorphism.
