This paper is devoted to the state estimation for faulty systems.An estimation method is proposed.Itapplies the unknown input observer and inverse system method to the error equations of the failure detec-tion filter to estimate the state variable errors with the output residua being known;therefore,the states ofthe faulty system are obtained.A simulation example is given to illustrate the method proposed.
