Two experiments were carried out by using corn (Zea mays L.) (experiment 1) and guineagrass (Panicum maximum Jacq.) (experiment 2) ensiled with and without additives of LAB, AC and their combination (AC+LAB) at the costant temperature levels of 10, 20, 30 and 40 ℃ respectively. Results showed that in experiment 1, all corn silages were well preserved irrespective of the additives and temperature levels, though the effects of temperature at 20 and 30 ℃ were slightly advantageous compared with the low temperature...

Two experiments were carried out by using corn (Zea mays L.) (experiment 1) and guineagrass (Panicum maximum Jacq.) (experiment 2) ensiled with and without additives of LAB, AC and their combination (AC+LAB) at the costant temperature levels of 10, 20, 30 and 40 ℃ respectively. Results showed that in experiment 1, all corn silages were well preserved irrespective of the additives and temperature levels, though the effects of temperature at 20 and 30 ℃ were slightly advantageous compared with the low temperature at 10 ℃ and the high temperature at 40 ℃. In experiment 2, pH values were reduced and lactic acid content hightened obviously in guineagrass silages by AC and AB+LAB under all temperatures, and, at the same time, butyric acid and VBN contents at 40 ℃ were reduced significantly compared with the control and LAB treatment. LAB additive had no effect on the fermentation at any temperature level. All guineagrass silages had the highest butyric acid content at 30 ℃ irrespective of additives. AC alone and its combination with LAB partially degraded the structural carbohydrates and reduced NDF and ADF concentrates of corn and guineagrass silages compared with the control and LAB. While the temperature did not affect the degradation capability of AC significantly.

In order to reduce water evaporation and improve water use efficiency, a field experiment was carried out to investigate the effects of several soil fertilization systems in water saving and yield improving. Experimental results showed that straw incropration and applying organic fertilizer could improve yield and save water significantly. Under the same water application of 150mm, the yield and water use efficiency of winter wheat were 540 kg/hm 2 and 2.34 kg/(hm 2·mm) higher, 735kg/hm 2 and 2.21 kg/(hm 2·mm) higher, 465 kg/hm 2 and 2.36 kg/(hm 2·mm) higher, and 660 kg/hm 2 and 2.18 kg/(hm 2·mm) higher, comparing with the yield and water use efficiency in the field without incropration and organic fertilizers, in the field with fertilization system of all corn and winter wheat straws incropration, in the fields with system of all straws incropration plus organic fertilizer application, in the fields with system of only winter wheat straws incropration and in the fields with system of winter wheat straws incropration plus organic fertilizer respectively.
