The virus particles, with a diameter of 180A and length longer than 10, 000A, sometimes form unusually complex and orderly aggregates. In the diseased plants infected with wheat mosaic virus grown in Urumchi rodlike particles were found with the following dimensions: diameter 180A; length 6,000~13,000A and diameter of central core, 40A. The above-mentioned virus particles were all isolated and partially purified with the aid of polyethylene glycol precipitation and differential centrifugation.
