A new heat-treatment technology which can raise the toughness and service life of 3Cr2W8V hot-extrusion dies is presented : which high temperature quenching at 1150~1250℃ and middle temperature tempering at lower than 500℃. The result shows that the service life of 3Cr2W8V hot-extrusion-dies can be increased to two to four times.
