It was suggested that the fluorescent staining procedure (FDA/EB) can be used as one of the methods to judge the effect of MDT.The authors considered that the stepping of the MDT after two years in all the patients seems not to be suitable and then,if the patient still have green-stained bacilli,the MDT ought to be continued.

The surface staining of cas-table ceramic restorations is a technique-dependent process. So it is inevitable thatthe color of restorations mismatch the co-lor of natural teeth. This study was con-ducted to explore the possibility of modify-ing the color by selected use of specialcolored stains.Eighty PLAT castable cera-mic samples were machined, 16mm indiameter, 1.2mm in thickness. Thirty-twosamples were stained with yellow stainand 32 samples orange. Sixteen sampleswere stained with red, green, blue andviolet stains, respectively. To the yellowand orange stained samples, we appliedcorrespondingly the same stain, red,green, blue and violet stains. The colorof each sample was evaluated with a co-lorimeter and translated to Munsell nota-tions. The results indicated that chroma wasintensified by each application of the samestain. Red and green stains made the huereddish and greenish. Blue and violetstains could effectively decrease thechroma of yellow or orange. Meanwhile,thehue was also slightly changed to greenishand reddish.

铸造陶瓷的表面着色是一个依赖技术的过程。本研究通过对经黄色、橙色着色剂着色后的铸造陶瓷盘应用薄层同色着色剂及红、绿、蓝、紫色着色剂后的色度测量,发现同色着色剂的应用使饱和度增加;红色、绿色可使其色相偏红、偏绿;蓝色、紫色可有效地降低饱和度,但使色相有不同程度地偏绿偏红。
