Modification of polymer surfaces with plasma irradiation to improve their biocompatibility and specific properties is a new and effective method in biomaterial field. With various types of plasmas of known energy and sontrolled intensity, this article studied the effects of irradiation on the relations among the surface structure, plasticizer (DOP) migration and surface crosslinks of PVC.The surface chemical structure of the modified PVC film was analysed by electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA) and it has been found that some hydrophilic groups, such as—CO—and -C-O—C-, were introduced to the sample surfaces by O_2 and H_2 plasma treatments respectively for 5 to 35 minutes. Obviously, the results of ESCA were coincident with the. contact angle measurements showing an improvement on the wettability of PVC surfaces. In comparison with O_ 2 and Ar plasmas, H_2 plasma exhibited a relatively simple relation between the degree of crosslinks and the decrease of plasticizer migration in heptane extraction. Higher the degree of croslinks, less the migration of plasticizer from PVC, which could be as low as only 13.7% of the non-modified sample. The non-linear relation between the migration and crosslinks in PVC indicated that the effects of flexibility and free volume of PVC chains on the migration were more than that of the thickness of the crosslinked layer. The tensile strength of PVC was also improved by the surface crosslinks in PVC.

本文采用低温辉光放电等离子体技术,分别在H_2,O_2和Ar三种气氛中处理软质聚氯乙烯(PVC)膜的表面,并研究被处理材料的表面化学结构、润湿性和凝胶含量,以及对材料中邻苯二甲酸二辛酯(DOP)在正庚烷中渗出量和材料拉伸强度的影响。实验结果说明无论非反应型或反应型等离子体都有降低PVC试样巾DOP渗出的作用,并能提高试样的拉伸强度,但以H_2等离子体的效果最好,具有工业化前途。
