When engineering and developing the refrigerated LPG terminal project in China, decisions to be made shall mainly be the se-lection of standards and/or codes, the design density of water spray properly for fire exposure protection, and the ranges of the ex-posed tanks' surfaces to be wetted by spray water. Both Chinese standards and/or codes, and the knowledge and experience on fire protection for the refrigerated LPG tanks farm are discussed.

Agreement between measured and calculated results is good, which shows that the calculational method provides an efficient tool for predicting composite structure thermal performance for preliminary design decisions.

In a given confined space, temperature, heat fluxes, and toxic gases emitted by materials involved in the fire can be directly correlated to the HRR of a real fire. HRR of typical combustibles, such as PMMA and pine, were measured by using the Cone Calorimeter under fire exposure radiation conditions. The results show that combustion state of solids is closely related with their construction and characteristics: the heat release rate curve of pine has two obvious peak value, but the heat release rate of PMMA increases stably and behaves like liquid. Exposure radiation has very big influence on combustion and heat release rate of solid.

采用基于耗氧原理的燃烧热释放速率测量方法和锥型量热计系统;在不同的外加辐射热作用下测量了PMMA和松木两种典型固体可燃物的热释放速率,分析了PMMA与松木燃烧过程以及外加辐射热对固体可燃物热释放速率的影响,发现固体可燃物的燃烧放热过程与它们本身的结构特性密切相关,外加辐射热对固体可燃物的热释放速率有很大的影响.
