In order to evaluate the site quality for the Plantations of Pinus tabulaeformis and forecast the site quality of the non-stocked, we investigated 204 stands in the 6 typical forestry stations of the Loess Plateau to the North of the Wei River, then developed a relation equation of the hight of the upper woods and the site factors of the Plantations of P. tabulaeformis and formed "The Quantification Score Table of the Site Quality for the Plantations of P. tabulaeformis in the Loess Plateau to the North, of the Wei River" , by useing the method of the theory 1 of quantification. The table could be applied to the planting designs for the Loess Plateau to the North of the Wei River, because the results are considered satistying the claim values of the exactness of the F. test of complex related coefficient and the testing significance of it.On the base of the table, we also developed "The Quantification Evaluation Table of the Site Qality" and "The Table of the Adaptable Forestry Species for Various Sites" , they could make the results of evaluating the site quality more easily understood. Both of the tables could be considered a combination form of the quanitification score table with the classification of the site types, i.e. a combination of the qualitative analysis with the quantitative analysis.

Sweet osmanthus(Osmanthus fragrans Lour.)is not only one of the major ornamental trees,but also one of the perfume plants peculiar to China.A large number of sweet osmanthus has been cultivated in the southern areas recently.It scatters mainly in the Northern subtropics and the Middle subtropics.Most of the main places of production focuses on the Yangtze River valley.A few disperses in the Southern subtropical and the Marginal tropical areas.The low temperature in winter is the main climatic factor that places a restrict the distribution of sweet osmanthus in the northern areas.When the average temperature of January is below 2℃,overwinter sweet osmanthus requires special management.The precipitation too much in blooming period is the main climatic factor that places a restrict the distribution of sweet osmanthus in the southern areas. Sweet osmanthus is one of the short day plant,which needs the light duration 5~6 hr./day before blooming.The coefficient of the dry degree in all the place of production in a year is less than 1,which explains that sweet osmanthus is suitable to more humid climate for his grow.Sweet osmanthus adapts to sandy loam tending to acid soil,the red clay soil and tending to alkali soil and salt soll both are unfavourable for it to grow. The leaves of sweet osmanthus have strong resistance for air pollution such as SO_2,HF,Cl,but the differentiation of flower bud was sensitive to smoke and dust so that consideration should be given to this feature when selecting the plant species, in the planting design of industrial cities,otherwise it is probably that sweet osmanthus only grows leaves but not blossoms.

桂花是原产我国的十大传统名花之一,而且是我国特有的香料植物。它主要分布在我国的亚热带地区,其花的产区大部分集中在长江流域。限制桂花在北方分布的主要气候因素是冬季的低温,一月份平均气温低于2℃的地区,越冬就需特殊管理。桂花在开花前需要一段5~6小时/日的短日照时期。桂花适宜于气候比较湿润的环境,各主要产区的年干燥度系数都小于1,但花期雨多会严重影响其产量和品质。桂花的叶片对 SO_2、HF 和 Cl_2等污染气体的抗性较强,但其花芽对烟尘却比较敏感,所以在工业城市的园林中有只长叶而不开花的现象。
