It has been found by experiments that there exist a superior zone under the influence of the front end and self-softening phenomenon, that is, a decrease of the strength and hardness and an increase of plasticity after microdeformation cold rolling for thin sheet metal. It is considered by the authors that the strange phenomenon of particle flow in rolled piece results from the common action of the front end with resistance to friction and that self-softening of the working structure results from a laminated structure of high energy to a spherical structure of low energy of the carbonide in pearlite under the action of low stress for a long time.

The paper introduces the development and application of new roller of castable refractories reinforced by heat - resistant steel fibers. Two year use results show that new rollers nave an average service life of 15 months or more, which makes production run smoothly. Water-cooling replaced by air-cooling reduces heat loss equivalent to 3.272,900 curries gas per year, saves water 240,000 tons annually and increases treated steel quality because of roller surface of 150℃ higher temperature, and annual total economic benefit is 2,629,800 yuan.

用于薄板热处理的辊底式常化炉,原用耐热合金钢和耐火可塑料为材质的两种炉辊,存在着炉辊寿命短、经常发生断辊影响生产,以及水冷带走大量热损失等问题。本文介绍了辊底式常化炉用耐热钢纤维增强耐火浇注料新炉辊代替原用炉辊的研制及应用情况,两年多的使用表明,新炉辊平均使用寿命在15个月以上,使生产得以连续正常进行.风冷代替水冷减少热损失折合煤气327.29万m~3/a和节约用水24万t/a,而且因炉辊表面温度提高约150℃使被处理钢板质量得到提高等效果,年总经济效益达262.98万元。
