Tne following properties of the virus have been charaterized: virions are bullet shapcd, measuring 85nm in diameter and 170nm in length, containing RNA. This virion with an envelope of 11 nm thickness and studded with projection, is synthesized in the cytoplasm, assembled atcel lular membrane and released by budding. This virus is sensitive to lipidsol vents and trypsin, moderately heat sensitive and stable at low temperature. It can endure several treatments of repeated freezing and thawing, but without loss ot its infectivity to host cells. A comparision with human respiratory syncytical virus by virus neutralization test reveals no cross—reactions.
