User oriented software design is the foundation of success in development of petroleum exploration software. This article discusses the definition and types of user interface, introduces the developing procedure and basic characters of petroleum exploration software's user interface, puts forward some basic principles about the design of petroleum exploration software, and presents a user interface prototype of petroleum exploration software. Based on the prototype, this paper describes detailedly the designing principles about user interface's elements, such as menu bar, tool bar, tool box, status bar and data tree, and points out some designing traps that may fall across in the course of software design. Finally, the author appeals that software designers should liberate their minds and design elaborately to contribute their efforts to the development and strengthening of domestic petroleum exploration software.

以用户为中心进行用户界面设计是油气勘探软件成功的基础。在对用户界面设计技术进行深入研究的基础上,对用户界面的定义和类型、油气勘探软件用户界面的发展历程、油气勘探软件用户界面的基本特征等进行了论述,提出了油气勘探软件用户界面设计的一些基本设计原则和一个基本的油气勘探软件用户界面设计模型,并以该模型为基础对菜单、工具条、工具箱、状态条、数据树等主要用户界面组成元素的设计原则进行了较为详细的阐释,指出软件设计中可能存在的一些设计陷阱,并呼吁软件设计人员解放思想,精心设计,为国产油气勘探软件的发展壮大贡献力量。
