Seventeen strains (15.59%) of Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) were identified in summer of 1983 from 109 diarrheal children below 3 years of age by using modified Elek test (Biken test), The isolation rate of ETEC during the same period from normal children below 3 years of age was 6.33%. In 17 ETEC strains 2 (11.76%) produced heat-labile enterotoxin (LT), 8 (47.6%) produced heat-stable enterotoxin (ST) and 7 (41.18%) produced both LT and ST enterotoxins.

We found that plants of the CMS sorghum 3197 A showed a,male fertile phenomenon when they were treated with a 40℃high temperature (a heat shock) in field in 1966.We studied the male fertile like anthers rellated cytochrome oxidase isozymes and free proteins,and found that when the CMS sorghum had been heat shocked some male fertile material in the anthers was increased.On the basis of these results,we have been studying the heat shock proteins of the CMS sorghum and its maintainer since 1983.The results are as follows:1.The five-day-old seedlings of the CMS sorghum and the maintainer were treated with heat shock (40℃),the control were incubated at 28℃,and the soluble proteins were extracted and analysed with SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS PAGE).The heat shocked CMS sorghum exhibited 9 changed protein bands,in which 5 bands were not observed in the control,and 4 bands were enhanced.The heat shocked maintainer exhibited 2 new bands as compared with its control.The electrophoresis chroma- togram showed in the seedling stage the soluble protein bands of CMS sorghum that were more than those of the maintainer both in numbers and properties.2.The foregoing' samples when analysed with isoelectric focusing-SDS polyacry-lamide two dimensional gel electrophoresb (IBF-SDS 2D PAGE),the heat shocked CMS sorghum exhibited 19 changed protein spots more than its control,in which 5 spots related to the new bands of the SDS PAGE,3 spots related to the enhanced bands of the SDS PAGE,10 spots related to the unchanged bands of the SDS PAGE,but they had more changed pi than its control,and 1 spot was the 2D PAGE special new band.The heat shocked maintainer exhibited 6 changed protein spots than its control,in which 4 spots related to the unchanged bands of the SDS PAGE,but they were enhanced in the 2D PAGE,2 spots were the 2D PAGE special new spots.So,the IEF-SDS 2D PAGE showed not only the molecular weight change of the HSPs but also the electri-city changes.3.The young ears of the CMS sorghum and maintainer in the pollen mother cell stage were treated with heat shock (46℃) and incubated at normal temperature (28℃).Each treatment and control were analysed with SDS PAGE.The hea.t shocked CMS sorghum exhibited 8 changed protein bands than its control,in which 6 bands were newly produced,2 bands were enhanced.The heat shocked maintainer exhibited 6 changed protein bands than its control,in which 3 bands were newly produced,3 bands enhanced.In the young ear stage the electrophoresis chromatogram showed that the numbers of both normal and heat shock protein bands were less than those in the seedling stage.The maintainer lacked the bands higher than 50 kd.It is interesting to see that CMS sorghum lacked the bands higher than 19 kd.It might reflect this line's special protein change model in flower development process.The results mentioned above indicated:(1) The heat shock reactions of the CMS sorghum were much more sensitive than the normal sorghum (its maintainer),(2) The CMS sorghum,when they were heat shocked,the HSPs and the fertile phenocopy were both induced at 40℃ and their reaction rates were 100%.(3) The CMS sorghum when heat shocked in the pollen mother cell stage,according to the development process,the changes were as follows:first produce heat shock proteins,then increase the fertile proteins and isozymes and finally producing fertile like yellow anthers.(4) In the pollen mother cell stage,the protein numbers of the CMS sorghum were remarkably decreased.Whether that means the inhibition of the synthesis of the high molecular weight proteins and thus lead to pollen abortion is not yet clear.However,when they were treated with heat shock in this stage,that line produced a great number heat shock proteins,probabily such a treatment would get out of the inhibition.We can deduce therefore the male sterility of the CMS sorghum is involved in the complex process of gene regulation.The heat shock proteins might participate in this special gene regulation.

本文以高粱雄性不育系为材料进行了热激蛋白的研究。苗期单向电泳表明,保持系在热激(40℃)过程中可溶性蛋白有24条带,对照(28℃)22条,出现2条带差异,不育系在热激后有33条带,比对照28条多5条,且有4条加强带,共9条带产生差异。苗期双向电泳,不育系在热激后比对照有19点产生差异,保持系热激后与对照比较有6点产生差异。表明双向电泳揭示了热激后蛋白质在分子量和电性方面有差异。花粉母细胞期幼穗的热激蛋白,不育系对照可溶性蛋白仅有3条带,热激后有11条,8条带有差异。保持系对照有10条带,热激后有15条,1条加强,共6条带有差异。幼穗期不育系蛋白质突出的缺少19kd以上的大分子量的带。从个体发育看,不育系由苗期可溶性蛋白比保持系带数多,发育到花粉母细胞期比保持系突出地减少,尤其是大分子量的蛋白带消失,热激后明显地增加了与可育的保持系相同的蛋白成份,表明不育系有其特殊的基因调控。
