Gudao vacuum residue was seqarated into five narrow fractions by the supercritical fluid destraction, and their elemental and chemical compositions were also determined. The effects of the chemical compositions, the ration of H/C and the residual carbons of these narrow fractions on the product distributions were studied during the mild heat conversion, which provided some important data for rationaly choosing the processing way of Gadao vacuum residue.
