The information about vegetation change, retrogress grade, grass yield, grazing capacity, and season grassland map have been collected in this region, and we selected 12 NOAA data which covered between...

Remote Sensing technologies have been used in agriculture, forestry, geology, geography, oceanography, hydrology, meteorology, environmental monitoring, resource prospecting, and military spy fields. The project group has researched the degrading grassland in Dari county of Guolu prefecture in Qinhai province. The information about vegetation change, retrogress grade, grass yield, grazing capacity, and season grassland map have been collected in this region, and we selected 12 NOAA data which covered between 320 and 380 N, and 960 and 1010 E from April to September in 1997. It is necessary to rectify NOAA data in order to overlay exactly with Dari boundary map that is digitized by using ERDAS. Different NOAA images can be overlayed to analyze the change of grass yield. Cubic convolve resample, bilinear interpolation resample, nearest pixel resample are three frequent resample methods. We selected the nearest pixel resample method, because by using this algorithm the computation is fast and precision is available. Because the resolution of NOAA is low (1.1 km), it is different from TM to choose same point to rectify images.The selected map is'Qinghai Province map', whose scale is 1:1 500 000 and projection is Lambert Conformal Conic Projection in which central longitude is 1 010 and standard latitudes are 340 and 410. The ground points were choosed by the condition of NOAA images. We chose some obvious inflexions. Some are beside Qinhai lake, Zhalin lake, Erlin lake, and Donggeicuna lake, two obvious inflexions of Yellow river are chosen in Dari county, and two points on the yellow river near Xinhai county. GCP file was set up using these points. Taking one rank for transformation and one pixel for RMS, CFN file can be get from GCP file for all images. The 12 images were rectified using Lrectify (linear rectification) program of ERDAS. Rectified images are clear with high precision. It is not necessary to rectify NOAA data when it is used for weather forecast. But it must be rectified when it is used to monitor vegetation in order to overlay with boundary map. Only after rectification, NOAA vegetation index can be used to build correction with grass yield that is located by GPS.

论述了对极轨气象卫星NOAA/AVHRR图像进行几何精纠正的原理、方法、意义和所能达到的精度。利用ERDAS图像处理系统对1997年4-9月12次不同时相的NOAA数据进行了几何精纠正,为实现草原遥感动态监测做了前提工作。
