All of the resistant materials belong to small grain soybean group with black seed coat in which Xingxian huipizhi heidou also has multiresistant ability to race 1, 3 and 5, this resistant material is seldom at home and in other countries. Four crosses from high resistant varieties×high susceptible varieties were made for resistant genetic analyses.

The research indicates that Maris Templar has one or two pairs of dominant geaes resistant to powdery mildew of wheat. Now, among the wheat varieties with comparatively high infectivity in Guizhou it ezists the heredity of two pairs of dominant disease resistant genes against No.64 physiological strain of powdery mildew fungi. It also shows that in the resistant genetic heredity Maris Templar can not pass more than three pairs of resistant genes on to the hybrid progenies after it is hybridized with the wheat varieties of different genetic background.

Based on cotton resistant cultivars made as Chuan 52-128 and other 3 cultivars during 1950s and Shan 401, 86-1 with other 42 cultivars during 1960s and 1970s obvious progress of cotton wilts resistant breeding research including breeding objective decision, resistant sources selection, under standing of resistant genetic rules and improvement on breeding methods, have been made. As the result of the above research a resistance to both wilts, high yield and good fiber quality new cotton cultivar Zhongmian 12 was developed in 1980, which brought cotton resistant breeding research into a new era. Resistant cotton cultivars were planted about 35.4 million mu last year making up 44.% of total cotton growing area in China with 195 milion Ynan of RMB was increased.

利用抗病品种防治棉花枯萎病和黄萎病,是国内外成功经验。50年代育成了川52-128等第一批5个抗冻品种。60-70年代有较大发展,育成陕401、86-1等42个杭枯萎病品种,奠定了我国棉花抗病育种的基础。80年代有很大突破,育成48个抗病品种,以中棉12为代表,使抗病、丰产、优质等性状较好地结合起来。此外,在育种目标的确定、抗源筛选、抗性遗传规律及育种方法等方面积累了有益的经验,使我国棉花抗病育种进入一个新阶段。1990年代国种植棉花抗病品种3540万亩,占全国棉田面积的44.1%,年增加收益15.9亿元。
