The present paper investigates the morphological structure of the pituitary gland and the identification of hormone-producing cells of the sea-horse Hippoeampus japonieus by use of histological method. The results showed that the pituitary gland of the sea-horse was of the front and back type, and it was composed of the adenohypophysis and the neurohypbphysis. The adenohypophysis was divided into RPD, PPD and PI. Seven different cell types were identified in the adenohypophysis by O. F. G staining....

The mitochondrion Vv increased with age in GH, PRL and ACTH cells , with associated increase of area numerical density ( NA ) of mitochondria in GH and ACTH cells. LiPofuscin developed with aging in all of the 5 secretory cells, and the increases were statistically significant, except for that in TSH cells. The relationships of these morphological changes and certain functional decline of the endocrine system in aging are discussed.

运用立体学方法,对幼年(1月龄)、成年(12月龄)和老年(31月龄)Wistar大鼠腺垂体各种内分泌细胞的细胞质、细胞核、核仁、线粒体及脂褐素进行定量分析,结果表明:老年动物的细胞质体密度(Vv)在促肾上腺皮质激素细胞中是增加的,但在催乳素细胞中却是减少的;细胞核体密度(Vv)在促性腺激素细胞和促甲状腺激素细胞中增大;而促肾上腺皮质激素细胞和促性腺激素细胞的核仁体密度(Vv)却出现下降。线粒体的体密度(Vv)在生长素细胞、催乳素细胞和促肾上腺皮质激素细胞都有所增加,而且在生长素细胞和促肾上腺皮质激素细胞中线粒体的面数密度也明显变大。至于脂褐素体密度(Vv)在五种细胞中均有出现,但其含量仅在生长素细胞、催乳素细胞、促肾上腺皮质激素细胞和促性腺激素细胞中出现年龄性差异。本文讨论了结构变化与细胞功能的关系。
