This paper presents an analysis of earthquakes with magnitude over 43/4 in Liaoning province. The research results show that the north segment of Tanlu seismic Zone as the most important seismic zone has controlled earthpuake activity in liaoning area. The earthquake activity of Bohai seismic zone and of Xiufu seismic belt have also a greater influence on seismicity in Liaoning region. The intersections of earthquake network and the aftershock area of Haicheng earthquake of M=7.3 are some regions...

This paper presents an analysis of earthquakes with magnitude over 43/4 in Liaoning province. The research results show that the north segment of Tanlu seismic Zone as the most important seismic zone has controlled earthpuake activity in liaoning area. The earthquake activity of Bohai seismic zone and of Xiufu seismic belt have also a greater influence on seismicity in Liaoning region. The intersections of earthquake network and the aftershock area of Haicheng earthquake of M=7.3 are some regions to be prone to occurrence with moderate earthquakes in the future. By the results derived from entropy spectrum analysis and period—graph analysis, it has been found that there exist the seismic activity period with over 300 years in the research area. It is estimated that the seismicity in Liaoning province will be the stage releasing remnant strain, so it is lower in the future.

The focal depth of this earthquake is 578 kilometers and the deep focus phases are very clear. The deep phase record figures have been shown. A method for improving the primary calculating results of focal depth and epicenter location by using deep focus phases through the travel time tables, plotting and simple computation have been given in this paper. It is the supplement for the 《Typical earthquake phase examples on Sichuan Earthquake Network》 and may be played an actual reference part for correctly identifying the deep phases and determining the focal location on our earthquake rapid report.

1999年 4月 8日 2 1时 10分 35秒 (北京时间 )在吉林省汪清县 (震中位于北纬 4 3 4° ,东经 130 3°)发生了Ms7 0级地震。此次地震是自成都遥测地震台网建网以来首次记录到的中国大陆深源地震 ,震源深度达 578km ,深震震相清淅可靠。本文给出了这些深震震相的图例 ,并对由深震震相修定计算机初定的震源深度和震中位置 ,给出了一种查表作图和简便计算的方法 ,这对《四川地震台站典型震相图集》[1] 是一个补充 ,对在地震速报中正确识别震相和准确定位具有实际的参考作用。

According to main characteristics of earthquake monitoring system and classification for network of reservoir induced earthquake monitoring ,the existed network and that under construction are classified into four generations . Background for the third generation reservoir remote measuring earthquake network which are used in Ertan , Daqiao , Xiaolangdi and Lijiaxia Projects is described in detail here . The forth generation remote measuring earthquake network ,namely Three Gorges digital remote measuring earthquake network which will be used in the Three Gorges Hydropower Project under construction in Yangtse River is briefly introduced .
