The use of N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine in chloroform solution as extractant for microgram quantities of tungsten(Ⅵ) in strongly acid solution is advantageous. Besides tungsten, molybdenum and vanadium can also be extracted into the organic phase under similar conditions. The use of N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine in chloroform solution as extractant for microgram quantities of tungsten(Ⅵ) in strongly acid solution is advantageous. Besides tungsten, molybdenum and vanadium can also be extracted into the organic phase under similar conditions. The tungsten (and molybdenum too) in organic phase can be then determined with known methods.The optimum conditions for extracting tungsten are as follows. For 10μg of tungsten(Ⅵ), the percentage of tungsten extracted with one operation from 1—8 N hydrochloric acid solution is over 97, and drops down as the acid getting stronger. The percentage extracted from 1—14 N and 14—22 N sulphuric acid is about 95 and over 97 respectively. From 4 N hydrochloric acid solution, 3—150μg of tungsten can be quantitatively extracted, while from 4 N and 20 N sulphuric acid solution the amount of tungsten present should not exceed 10 and 50μg respectively. For 10μg of tungsten, at least 10 mg of N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine is needed order to extract quantitatively with one operation, and the volume of aqueous phase should not be larger than 30 ml. At least two minutes is required for the extraction. Instead of chloroform, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, methyl isobutylketone and isoamyl alcohol can also be used.For 10μg of tungsten, the presence of 1 mg of iron and aluminum, 100μg of chromium(Ⅵ), vanadium(Ⅳ), arsenic(Ⅲ), antimony(Ⅲ), bismuth and barium, and 30μg of lead, niobium, titanium and copper exerts no influence, while the presence of 100μg of zirconium and titanium causes slightly low results. Up to 500 mg of uranyl nitrate do not interfere with the extraction. Even when the amount of phosphate ions present is one thousand times that of tungsten, and fluoride and tartrate one hundred times, tungsten can still be extracted quantitatively. Oxalate ions lower the percentage extraction of tungsten.A method of procedure for isolating microgram quantitites of tungsten is given.

A chloroform or iso-amyl alcohol solution of N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine (BPHA) can be used for the extraction of titanium from strong acid solution. It has been found in our laboratory that the addition of ammonium thiocyanate to acid titanium solution would increase both the percentage extraction of titanium and the colour intensity of its complex. Based upon this reaction, a procedure with solvent extraction and spectrophotometric determination of microgram quantities of titanium has been devised.

This paper deals with the extraction of gold(Ⅲ) complex ion from hydrochloric acid solution with tertiary amine extractant N-235 and n-octyl alcohol in kerosene. Measurements of phase ratio, temperature, extraction time, acidity of aqueous solution and extractant concentration have revealed some rules of the extraction of gold(Ⅲ) with N-235 and n-oetyl alcohol in kerosenes. We have found that the distribution coefficient is more than 1039 and the one- step percentage extraction is more than 99. 90.

本文系国产叔胺N—235萃取金(Ⅲ)的性能研究。选用正辛醇作调相剂,磺化煤油作稀释剂与N—235配成萃取有机相,从相比、萃取温度、萃取时间、水相酸度和萃取剂浓度等方面考察了N—235的萃金(Ⅲ)规律性。实验发现:N—235—正辛醇—煤油溶液能从氯化的工业料液中革取金(Ⅲ)、金(Ⅲ)的分配比可大于1,039,单级革取率可大于99.90%。
