Particularly on the first and second day a decrease of 40-50% was noted as compared with that of the control group. But -there was no significant difference in thymus weight between the two groups. The foregoing findings indicated that the increase in cAMP content was correlated to the reduction in PNA+ cell number. It was then suggested that simplified calf thymosin was probably of aid in promoting the differentiation of precursor cells into relatively mature thymocytes.

A seres of experiments were conducted on the effects of azadirachtin at concentration of 20 ppm mixed with artificial diet on the growth of the larvae of the Asiatic corn borer Ostrinia furnacalis Guenee. The third or fourth instar larvae were fed with the diet containing azadirachtin for two days, then, the normal diet was given. Results of our experiments show that, after treatment, the larval period was markedly prolonged, pupation was inhibited, the larval body shrank gradually, the fat content reduced and...

A seres of experiments were conducted on the effects of azadirachtin at concentration of 20 ppm mixed with artificial diet on the growth of the larvae of the Asiatic corn borer Ostrinia furnacalis Guenee. The third or fourth instar larvae were fed with the diet containing azadirachtin for two days, then, the normal diet was given. Results of our experiments show that, after treatment, the larval period was markedly prolonged, pupation was inhibited, the larval body shrank gradually, the fat content reduced and black thoracic leg and brown thoracic spot were observed. The treated larvae finally died. Upon examination with light and electron microscopes, it was found that the fat body of the treated larvae appeared abnormal, necrosis was found in the epidermal cells of thoracic legs and the thoracic epidermal cells disappeared, the cuticle did not show clear layers, the ovaries and testes swelled markedly. The prothoraeic gland cells greatly expanded and, the cell membrane became thicker and looser. The content of the β-ecdysone in the hemolymph of the treated larvae determined by ra-dioimmunoassay was markedly tower (6.36pg/μl) than the control (49.76 pg/μl). Our observations showed that the nerue and endocrine systems of the larvae were affected by azadirachtin.

本文报道印楝素对亚洲玉米螟Ostrinia furnacalis Guene幼虫生长发育的抑制作用和引起幼虫各器官的病变症状。用含20ppm印楝素的人工饲料饲喂亚洲玉米螟3—4龄幼虫2天,然后换入正常饲料,可使幼虫期显著延长,最后不能化蛹而死亡。印楝素对幼虫的作用是缓慢的,虫体受药后还可发育一个龄期。处理幼虫的行为失常,取食动作逐渐消失,主要靠消耗体内的水分和脂肪来维持生命。幼虫的胸足变黑,胸部出现褐色斑,这些部位的表皮分层不正常,真皮细胞坏死或自溶。处理幼虫的大脑萎缩,生殖器官和前胸腺肿大,前胸腺细胞膜厚而松散,血淋巴中β-蜕皮酮含量显著降低。从整个中毒症状来看,印楝素可能作用于亚洲玉米螟幼虫的神经和内分泌系统,从而逐渐引起各器官的病变。

The action of the prothoracicotropic hormone (PTTH) and the secretory activity of the prothoracic gland (PG) of the silkworm Bombyx mori were studied by combining the methods of in vitro culture of PG from the last instar larva and from newly formed pupa under the influence of PTTH extracted from the brain of newly formed pupa and raclioimmunoassay (RIA) of the ecdysteroid hormone secreted from PG. The objective of this study is to eluci-date the action of PTTH and the secretory activity of PG in more detail. The results show that under the experimental condition the brain extraction of newly formed pupa contains enough PTTH to activate the PG of the larva in the last instar and of the newly formed pupa. The secretory activity of PG is characterized by the following respects: 1. The activated PG displays a time course of its own activity in ecdysteroid hormone synthesis and secretion. 2. The hormone synthesized would not accumulate in the PG. 3. The action of PTTH on PG is accumulative in the sense that a threshold titer of PTTH is required for activating the PG. 4. The PG's of larva on different days of the last instar are different in their sensitivity to the influence of PTTH and the capacity of hormone synthesis. PG of the 6th day larva is most easily to be activated and to reach the upper limit of secretion, that of the 2nd day larva is least to do so, and that of the 5th day larva or of the newly formed pupa remains in the intermediary condition.

本工作以前胸腺的体外器官培养技术和蜕皮激素的放射免疫分析法(MH-RIA)相结合,研究了桑蚕(Bombyx mori)促前胸腺激素(PTTH)的作用与前胸腺分泌的某些特点。结果表明,被PTTH激活后的前胸腺,在一定的时相过程内合成并分泌脱皮甾类激素;前胸腺本体不积累蜕皮甾类激素;PTTH对前胸腺的作用是积累性的;五龄不同天数的前胸腺合成分泌脱皮甾类激素的能力不同,并有不同的剂量反应。
