The composition of amino acids of cottonseed protein is nearly similar to that of soybean protein.However, since there exist many toxic pigment glands in the cottonseed kernel, the cottonseed protein has not been used as human food so far. Its utilization in feedstuff is merely beginning.In this paper a method has been provided to extract cottonseed oil from cottonseed flakes and simultaneously to reduce the toxin—free gossypol content—by using the mixture of aqueous ethanol and commercial hexane as a solvent. Thus the extracted meal has met the standard for feeding.The following investigatiions on extraction have been made:1. After a series of tests, the effects of various rations of mixed solvent on the extraction and detoxification have been derived.2. The optimum conditions of extraction are found through perpendicular tests.3. Systematic comparisons between the extraction effects by using mixed solvent and by using hexane alone are made.4. The amino acid components of the extracted cottonseed meal are analyzed quantitatively.Affer the series of tests it is concluded that the method of exttraction and detoxification of cottonseed flakes by using a mixed solvent of ethanol and hekane is available.

This article points out that natural precipitaton is an ecological factor which limits the aboveground productivity of Leymus chinensis community growing in grassland area,northeast China.The primary production of the community linearly inereassed with the inerement of precipitation during April to July a year.The production of that could be predicted in accordance with the precipitation of this duration.The article shows that at least,more than 66mm precipitation from April to July was needed to ensure normal...

This article points out that natural precipitaton is an ecological factor which limits the aboveground productivity of Leymus chinensis community growing in grassland area,northeast China.The primary production of the community linearly inereassed with the inerement of precipitation during April to July a year.The production of that could be predicted in accordance with the precipitation of this duration.The article shows that at least,more than 66mm precipitation from April to July was needed to ensure normal production of Leymus chinensis comm- unity.It is estimated that the water-used efficiency of the L.chinensis community is aout 0.4~0.7gDw/m~2/mm.the analogus rainfall test showed that the irrigation of Yang-Cao grassland should be made during early April to the second ten days of June,and the grassyield may increase by about twice if each mu of grassland is irrigated at 40m~3 water during this duration.

本文指出了天然降水是我国东北草原区羊草群落地上部生产力的限制性生态因子,该群落的生产量伴随每年四——七月份降水量的增加呈线性增加。利用该期降水量可以预报羊草群落的生产量。本文估算出每年四——七月份致少要有66mm 以上的降水才能保证羊草群落的正常生产。估算出羊草群落的水分利用效率为0.4~0.7克/m(?)/mm。作者所做的模拟降雨试验的结果表明,羊草群落的灌溉应在四月初——六月中旬进行,每亩草地灌水40m~3,则可使饲用植物的产量接近成倍增长。
