Some other varieties of this microbe (B.t. var. thuringiensis E-009; var. kurstdki HD-1; var kenyae 7404 var. ostriniae 006) showed no effect to the larvae at the concentration fo 4×105 spores/ml.By using the fluid diphasic systems and the isopycnie centrifugation, purified crystals and purified spores from var. israelensis were obtained. The LC50 for purified crystals was 0.23 μg/ml and for Purified spores was 0.86 μg/ml. The LC50 for the mixture of both preparations was (0.014μg crystals + 0-014μUg spores)/ml. These results suggest that crystals play the main role in causing mortality of the mosquite larvae.The difference of temperature between 30℃and 21℃has no effect on larvicidal activity of the crystal preparation, but has marked effect on the spore preparation. Moreover, there was a lot of germinating spores in the gut of larvae killed by spore preparation as revealed by microscopical examination. No similar phenomenon was observed in the gut of larvae killed by crystal preparation. For this reason it is deduce! that the crystal and spore are different in their larvicidal mechanism.

Ames's test was "negative". The results of the micronucleus test and the teratosperm test showed that there were no significance (P>0.05) in the test of significance between the treatment and its control....

Ames's test was "negative". The results of the micronucleus test and the teratosperm test showed that there were no significance (P>0.05) in the test of significance between the treatment and its control. The teratological and mutagenic action of "8701" on animal was also not obserued. The result of subacute toxicity indicated that "8701" was no effect on the rate of growth and development of mouse. The accumulative toxicity of "8701" also belongs to weak accumulative drug (K>5.3).

根据急性经口毒性(LD_(50)>5000mg/kg)、急性经皮毒性(LD_(50)>3000mg/kg)、急性吸入毒性(LC_(50)>10g/m~3)以及对眼结膜无刺激作用的试验结果,甲氧杀虫酯对动物的急性毒性均属于低毒性类。Ames检测为阴性。微核试验及精子畸变试验的结果表明,经“8701”处理及其对照组间无显著性差异(P>0.05)。未发现其对动物的致畸与致突变作用,亚急性毒性试验表明,对小白鼠的生长发育速率无影响。内脏各器官系数与对照组比较没有差异。蓄积毒性K值>5.3,属弱蓄积性药剂。
