The isolation rate of plasmid-mediated penicillase-producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae and tetracycline-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae was 50% and(27.50%) respectively.
During the period of 2000-2005, the prevalence of PPNG increased from 17.1% to 23.7%(χ2=0.955,P>0.05 ), while TRNG significantly increased from 20% to 46.1% (χ2=11.94,P<0.05).
However, most tetracycline-resistant recipient cells were ST-mouse+ following recombination events between plasmids encoding for colicin B and ST-mouse production and plasmids encoding for tetracycline resistance.
Microdilution and disc diffusion techniques were used to determine the susceptibility patterns of 66 anaerobes to some commonly used antimicrobial agents. The strains were isolated from the specimens of bile, pus, pleural fluid, ascitie fluid and vaginal secretion during 1980—1981. It was shown that metronidazole and chloramphenical were the most effective agents against all strains tested. Clindamycin was more active than lincomycin for most anaerobes. 66.7% of B fragilis tested were resistent to penicilli...
Twenty-two strains of campylobacter jejuni were isolated from the feces samples of the diarrheal patients. The antibiotic sensitivity of all the stains was detemined, and the plasmids in those bacteria were extracted and detected. Theresults showed that the twenty-two strains were sensitive to erythromycin, chlora-mphenicol, kanamycin, streptomycin, gentamycin and neomycin. But seventeenstrains of them were resistant to ampicillin, and three strains to tetracycline.Nostrain was resistant to more than three ...
The presence and antibiotic resistance of plasmid DNA from Campylobacter jejuni from children with diarrhea and chickens were investigated. Plasmids were detected in 14.49% of the isolates. The plasmid incidence in the Campylobacter jejuni from the children with diarrhea and the chickens were 21.88% and 8.11% respectively. Most of the plasmid-containing Campylobacter jejuni isolates were resistant to tetracycline. The incidence of tetracycline-resistant plasmid strains was higher than that of susceptible st...
