    The experimental study on the treatment of V-bearing molten pig iron with sodium salts has been carried out. Dephosphorization. desulfurization and vanadium recovery from hot metal reactions were carried on simultaneously. After treating with sodium salts, the water soluble sodium vanadate slag can be obtaincd, and it is possible to extract vanadium from this slag without using soda-roasting process, The treated hot metal in which phosphor and sulfur content is very low and can be directly refined to steel without slag-making. Experiments were performed in an 100kg induction furnace with two approaches, one was oxygen top blowing with sodium carbonate addition and the other one was stirring with sodium salts addition. The experimental results show that the average oxidation percentage of vanadium may be 80-90% and the average percentage of dephosphorization and desulfurization are 75% and 70% respectively. After the recovery of sodium in the V-containing solution by electro-dialysis and the extraction of vanadium from anolyte by using primary amine, the V_2O_5 product with 99% purity can finally be separated out.
