This paper studies the characteristics and function of TV culture from the perspectives of its content and modes of expression. Viewed from its content, TV culture, widely absorbent and compatible, can transform various kinds of culture and art and create new kinds of cultural forms. Viewed from its modes of expression, TV culture is dynamic in the individual function as it is andio visual, and superradiative and permeable in the social function. According to the paper, TV culture has a double character it can provide us with vivid pictures but create for us emptiness in our reality, it can please our eyes and ears but make us lazy, and it can keeps its cultural flavour but retain its commercial features.

The transformation of Communicant Center to Audience Center is a basic trend of development of the mass communication in the West up to now. Since the beginning of 1980s, the seeds of Audience Center have appeared to some extent in mass communication in China; however, a complete Audience Center has not been found so far. This paper has explored the links and ways of establishing Audience Center in mass communication of China from the aspect of social control system of the mass communication and the aspect of individual operation system of the mass communication medium ,i.e. macro and micro aspect.

由传者中心向受众中心转移,是目前为止西方大众传播事业发展的基本趋势。80年代以来,我国大众传播事业亦出现一定程度上的受众中心之萌芽,然迄今为止,真正的受众中心远未确立。本文试图从大众传播社会控制系统层面和大众传播媒介个体运作系统层面,即宏观层面和微观层面,探讨我国大众传播确立受众中心的环节和途径

Media credibility is positively related to the degree of its market orientation and negatively related to partisanship. Some media have departed from professional practice and thus resulted in general erosion of credibility. Hong Kong journalists highly value press freedom; only when the media contribute to the transparency of public policy can the unprecedented "one country, two systems" materialize in Hong Kong.

香港的主流媒介在市场经济的主导下,言论与新闻逐渐分道殊途,记者普遍服膺专业主义的精神,包括恪守新闻的客观公正与伦理道德。香港媒介的可信度与其专业程度成正比,与其党派认同或挂钩的程度成反比。在政治过渡期间,各媒介必须对于社会权力的重组和再分配采取因应措施,可惜若干媒介偏离了专业精神,致使媒介公信全面下降。调查研究显示,香港新闻工作者极为重视新闻自由。唯有新闻界善尽厥责,提高社会决策的透明度,“一国两制”的落实才能真正的着落。
